From stressed to supported…
Knowing how to manage our stress can be a minefield. We can get to a point where we think we have it nailed, and then we are hit sideways by a challenge or situation that has us wondering whether we will ever live a stress-free life.
If you are like many of the people I work with: high-performing, driven and thoughtful individuals, then you’ve already tried and tested many tools to manage your stress.
I guarantee you’ve read the books.
I guarantee you’ve listened to the podcasts.
I guarantee you’ve implemented a morning routine.
I guarantee you’ve been practicing the power of positive thought.
And I guarantee you’ve been trying to breathe your way through it.
But, for reasons you can’t put your finger on, you still feel stressed.
You feel tired in the morning, yet can’t wind down at night.
You snap at the people you love.
You get irritated with things that normally wouldn’t bother you.
You keep pushing through, even when your body is asking you to rest.
If this all sounds familiar, or feels a little close to home, you don’t need more mindset tools to try and manage how you’re feeling. You need to start supporting your nervous system.
My FREE 30-day email series ‘FROM STRESSED TO SUPPORTED’ was created for this reason.
I want to be clear. Mindset work is beneficial and extremely powerful. It can shift beliefs, habits, and the way we relate to ourselves and the world around us.
But if our nervous system is stuck in stress responses of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn, it won’t matter how much mindset work you do. Your power of positive thinking can’t override what your body feels.
This is why so many of us get stuck. We try to think our way out of stress, but stress doesn’t just live in our minds. It also lives in our body. There is no way your mind will be able to convince your body that it’s safe.
Our nervous system is constantly scanning for cues of safety or threat. And when it doesn’t feel supported (through rest, regulation, boundaries, or connection), it shifts into survival mode. That’s when we start to feel:
- Irritable;
- Numb or disconnected;
- Overwhelmed by small things; or
- Like we’re always available, but never truly present
Our nervous system needs to be supported so that it can regulate, recover and feel safe.
Resourcing our nervous system is not about doing more. Resourcing our nervous system is not about fixing ourself. Resourcing is about building internal (and external) resources that help our nervous system shift from stressed to supported.
Resourcing is as individual as you are. It can look like:
- Creating micro-moments of calm during your day;
- Using body-based techniques to ground and orient yourself;
- Understanding your unique stress patterns and how to respond to them; and
- Learning to recognise when you are dysregulated so you can address it before burnout hits.
The important thing is that this isn’t about a dramatic lifestyle overhaul. This is about small, manageable, nervous-system-friendly shifts that help to build real resilience over time.
‘FROM STRESSED TO SUPPORTED’ is a 30-day nervous system journey to help you achieve this, one email at a time.
I created this series for people who the quick fixes no longer work. For people who are tired of mindset-only solutions and who know they need something more. If you are ready to understand stress through a nervous system lens, consider this your invitation.
What you can expect…
You will get 30 short emails, each one a 2 - 3 minute read. You’ll get guidance based in science. And, you’ll get simple practices and reflections that will fit into your day-to-day.
The series covers topics such as:
- how to recognise dsyregulation;
- the nervous system states and what to do to shift them;
- what it means to feel safe; and
- micro-practices to support your nervous system.
This series isn’t about fixing you. It’s here to help your body remember what it feels like to be supported.
‘FROM STRESSED TO SUPPORTED’ is for you if:
- You’ve outgrown mindset tools but still feel stressed;
- You’re tired of white-knuckling your way through the week;
- You want to understand your stress responses and learn to work with them;
- You’re looking for a gentle, body-based approach to regulation; or
- You want stress relief that doesn’t require more from you.
You may be thinking that 30 days is a long time. But real change takes repetition, rhythm, and relationship. This isn’t a quick fix.
Our nervous system thrives on consistency and 30 days gives you enough time to not only learn the tools, but to start feeling their effects.
When we try to make dramatic changes in life, it can keep us stuck in our survival and stress responses. ‘FROM STRESSED TO SUPPORTED’ is about showing up in small, supportive ways that your body and nervous system can receive.
This series is designed for you to go at your own pace. It is designed to empower you to begin your own healing journey. You can read the emails at a time convenient to you. And you can save the emails for when you need them the most.
